GOP Takes Hold of the House

This Tuesdays, voting took place in the USA to establish a new order in Congress.  GOP, or "Grand Old Party" representing the Republican party, picked up over 60 seats in the House of Representatives leaving them with about a 53 seat majority.  This was the biggest party turnover in 60 years! Though GOP now controls the House, the Democrats still hold a slight majority in the Senate, dividing congress for both parties.  Republican Senate Leader, Mitch McConnell, commented on his parties victory by stating, "tonight the voters ensured their message was heard loud and clear."  This change in politics really proclaims that Americans are not happy with today's government and are hoping for the same "change" that Obama promised two years ago.  Could this new divided Congress possibly bring that change, could it allow these two parties to work together or will it continue to lack the change needed to bring contentment to Americans.

  1. I dont think that people are hoping for a change like Obama promised but they just dont not like the other people running. If people wanted change in government party there would have been a bigger difference in the voting. Also if we change our government that does not assure that it would bring contentment to Americans.
